Dental Salon 2022

The XLVI All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference of the RDA "Actual Problems of Dentistry" and the Round Table "Urgent Measures for the Functioning of the Organization of the Dental Industry in the New Economic Conditions" were held within the framework of the exhibition. The round table, chaired by the President of the RDA A.I. Yaremenko, put together representatives of domestic manufacturers and distributors of dental products, as well as chief physicians of public and private dental clinics. Director of the Institute of Medical Materials (Ministry of Industry of the Russian Federation) Generalov A.V. and standardization specialist Heine D.V took part in the round table at the invitation of RDA. Following the results of the Round Table, the participants proposed a number of measures aimed at supporting the entire dental industry: from simplifying the procedure for registration and import of medical products to subsidizing increased logistics costs and state support for substitution of missing imported materials.

The XLVI All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference of the RDA "Actual Problems of Dentistry", held within the framework of the forum, included a series of educational symposiums (accredited to the Ministry of Health): "Principles of organization of the dental diseases diagnostic and therapeutic processes in modern conditions", "Modern aspects of pediatric dentistry", "Risk-oriented management model in a private medical organization", "Prevention of dental diseases. Ways to improve the effectiveness of prevention programs", "Cancer screening in dentistry", "Modern aspects of the treatment of the dentoalveolar system with an interdisciplinary approach. Dentist, osteopath, speech therapist, physiotherapist", "Medical care in emergency forms in dentistry", "Innovations in dentistry", "The art of dental photography", "Gnathological problems of orthopedic dentistry", "Complex approaches in aesthetic dentistry and endodontics: optics, digital technologies, biomaterials", "Actual issues of organization of dental care in Russia in 2022".

An extensive training program was also held at the stands of the exhibition participants: the companies held more than 200 lectures and master classes in 21 areas of dentistry. Master classes at the stands of Proteco, S.T.I.dent, Dentex, Acteon, Pharmgeocom, Rocada Med, Geosoft, Technodent (St. Petersburg), Amanngirrbach, IMG, Eighteeth Russia, Zhermack, Independentpro, Mydent24, Bona Dent, W&H, Green Dent and Dental Guru.

The participants to the exhibition "Dental Salon 2022" showed high interest in establishing new contacts and paid increased attention to new products.

In particular, new products were presented by:

• Green Dent: DIERS Formetric 4D motion Lab – a system for functional analysis of the human musculoskeletal system, W&H Lara – Class B autoclave, one of the fastest Type B sterilizers in its performance class;
• Dentex: Foshan Roson plant, equipped with everything necessary for comfortable work of a dentist at an economy segment price, and microscopes Global A-Series with advanced LED technology with a power of 100,000 lux and a new ergonomic design;
• Avantis 3D, a resident of Skolkovo, presented an updated version of its software for digital dentistry, including a multi-module mode, modules for working with braces, as well as a gnathological module for working with TMJ disorders;
• Nanodent showed a new Elgydium toothpaste, indicating dental plaque with a food colorant;
• Osstem presented orth ancor orthodontic screws with minimal risk of displacement, easy installation and high strength, as well as ortho kit, which includes everything needed for the orthopedic protocol;
• Bien Air (Switzerland) showed the new line of motor handpiece for implantology and surgery – Chiropro and Chiropro plus, featuring elegance and ease of use.
• AGS Medical (Turkey), participating in the exhibition for the first time, presented Aggressor implants with the possibility of immediate loading.

Dental Salon 2022 exhibition faced a great success. Despite the difficulties with the air traffic from other countries and a number of Russian regions, the number of visitors to the exhibition increased by 2.4% compared to last year. Growth was provided mainly by visitors from Moscow and the Moscow region (+17% compared to the previous year).

The visitors called "receiving information about new products" as the main purpose of visiting the exhibition (63.4%). In addition, 51% of visitors came for training and education, and 42% to equip a clinic or a practice.

As before, the visitors mainly work at private clinics (64.6%). Most of the visitors are doctors (44%) and managers of clinics (14.9%), and only an insignificant part of visitors is not related to dentistry (2.5%). The ratio of retail and wholesale buyers among visitors is approximately 4 to 1, while 33.8% of visitors indicated in the questionnaire that they make purchase decisions on their own, and another 34.2% mentioned that they participate in decision making.

The most popular area of dentistry among visitors this year was orthopedics (39.6%). Then come therapy and aesthetic dentistry (37.2% each), implantology (33.8%), endodontics (31.8%) and hygiene/prevention (30.8%).
