Photo report
Almaty
Almaty was founded in 1854 as a Russian fort, but its history spans thousands of years. In 1867, the fort was granted city status and named Verniy. After the formation of the Kazakh SSR in 1921, it was renamed Alma-Ata, becoming the republic's capital in 1929. After Kazakhstan gained independence in 1991, the city received its current name, Almaty, in 1993 and remained the capital until 1997, when the capital was moved to Astana (now Nur-Sultan).
The dental industry in Kazakhstan is experiencing rapid growth, as evidenced by the increase in the volume of services provided, clinic revenues, and investment in the industry, fueled in part by access to pension savings. At the same time, prices for services are rising, especially in the capital and larger regions, as well as legislative changes that could impact the market.
